Members of the NC Coalition for Responsible Lending receive email updates about bills in the NC General Assembly related to consumer credit and debt, mortgage lending, and fines and fees. Examples of legislation are bills that address student loan debt; high-cost installment lending; as well as criminal, administrative, and municipal fines and fees. Coalition members will be among the first to hear about cutting edge research on credit and debt issues.
The Coalition supports members in developing advocacy skills, providing guidance on writing opinion pieces, sharing best practices in collecting stories from directly impacted individuals, and in advocating for or against a bill with a legislator.
The organizations below are all fighting for economic justice in North Carolina, and are representative of the NC Coalition for Responsible Lending. Diverse in their priorities and areas of expertise, coalition members are united in their commitment to ensuring all North Carolinians can thrive financially.
